Wedding Photography Sligo Nicola & Rob’s Ardtarmon House wedding

Congratulations to Nicola Fox and Rob Hill on their marriage in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church Bundoran on Saturday 28th September 2013. Saturdays wedding was a real gem and such a thrill to photograph. Nicola and Rob had originally planned to get married in 2014 but only a few short months ago decided to bring the wedding forward by a year to coincide with the landmark of being together ten years. So with such short notice everyone from friends and family jumped into action to help pull the whole thing together and boy did they do a great job- the wedding was a 1930’s theme and the effort and the detail that went into making this event special was truly spectacular- take a bow all involved. The guests really added to the wedding by getting dressed up in outfits from the 30’s and it just made for something really special and a really great atmosphere. Nicola had the very talented Ailín Gallagher from Ailíns Flowers in Kinlough make up the bridal party bouquets and button holes and flower arrangements for the church and reception and what a fab job Ailín did, you can see more of Ailíns work and book her for your own wedding on her website here.  Nicola was looked after all day by her three bridesmaids (and sisters) Geraldine Patton, Sinead Fox and Marian Fox. Tom was watched over by his groomsmen Tom Hill, Benny Yong Zhou and Anton Christenson. Saturday was a such a beautiful day with Fr. Munster joking with the visiting party that it was typical weather in Ireland for the time of year!! After the wedding ceremony in Our Lady Star of The Sea Church we headed up to Rougey with the bridal party for some photos- this area is beside Nicolas’ home and really made for some beautiful photos and yes there where really that many surfers in the sea this time of the year- brave souls indeed!. The bridal party then made their way to the reception while Nicola and Rob followed me up to the spectacular Gleniff Horse Shoe in Ballintrillick, this is a scenic drive into the heart of the  Dartry mountain range and is surrounded by the mountains of Truskmore and the wave shaped Ben Whiskin. We stopped at the top of the horse shoe and took some beautiful photos with the cliffs of Annacoona as the backdrop- this area really makes you appreciate the scale of nature. After our photos we headed to the reception in the lovely Ardtarmon house in Ballinfull Co. Sligo where owners Charles and Christa Henry made us all feel very welcome. There was a huge Marquee in the lawn and the guests wandered the grounds taking in the splendour of the magnificent gardens and the house itself. The 1930’s theme was continued with the showband called The Jazz Ladds (website here) who played music from the era and kept the dancefloor filled all evening- a band member actually told me they had being playing together now for 55 years- amazing.  We even managed to slip out for a minute to photograph the bride and groom with the red glow of an autumnal sunset over Sligo Bay as the backdrop. Here are a selection of the many photos that I took on the day and below is a slideshow with some clips of video added. I would like to take this opportunity to once again congratulate Nicola and Rob and wish them the very best for their future together….   enjoy……
