Award Winning Portrait Photography Donegal

Award Winning Portrait Photography Donegal. I just received a certificate in the post this morning from the SWPP ( society of  wedding and portrait professionals)  The Gold award was given in the Category of Portrait Avant Garde. These awards are very hard come by and it is a great honor to receive one- however it is also a bit embarrassing as the photo is of myself- (and i’m only too aware that i’m not model material!!) The story behind how I took the photo is that I was sitting at my computer in my Office (which also has my studio space) working on a slideshow for a wedding I had completed (most of any photographers time is spent in front of the computer and not behind the camera as many would imagine) and the biggest pain to me is how slow the broadband is, so as it was taking an age to upload my photos I decided to pass the time by having a mess around with my studio lights and backgrounds and just push my lighting and see what I could come up with. Well thank God I fitted blackout blinds as i’m sure I would have provided Louise and the girls with a few laughs and got some strange looks as I ran from camera to “model” position and back again getting everything right and making some strange and funny faces in the process. Well it all seemed to pay off as I got a Gold award for my (crazy) efforts- it goes to show you don’t have to be beautiful to be interesting! Now i’m off to send in my portfolio of one photo to Next Model Agency in New York City to see if I can get any bookings lined up for my beautiful profile 🙂

Well done Fergal. Lighting is very similar to what I used in my Portrait Studio POTY nomination. Hard to beat. Have a whole project shot with this lighting that I’ll have going for exhibition soon.
