Castle Dargan Hotel Wedding Fionnuala + David
Castle Dargan Hotel Wedding
Congratulations to Fionnuala O’ Donnell and David Harris who where married in St Patrick’s Church in Ballyshannon followed by an amazing reception for their family and friends in the beautiful Castle Dargan hotel in Sligo on Saturday 6th September 2014. It was really special for myself and Sinead to cover the wedding of Fionnuala and David as we both had worked with Fionnuala many moons ago in Muldoon’s Spar supermarket in Ballyshannon- it was great to catch up again not only with Fionnuala but also her mum who was always a wonderful friendly lady who had a kind word for everyone and it was great to see that nothing had changed in the years that passed. We started our day off at Fionnuala’s house on the Donegal road where Yvonne and Emer where busy getting their makeup applied and Fionnuala was just relaxing and chatting to Alice and flower girl Suin. The Donegal flag in the front garden was fluttering away in the strong breeze but the sun was popping its head out now and again so at least the child of Prague was doing its job at the bottom of the garden. Fionnuala had the most amazing wedding bouquet and it was great to see so much colour and vibrance in the flowers which was expertly put together by Ailin Gallagher from Ailins Flowers here in Kinlough. After we got some bridal portraits done with the girls we made the short journey to St Patrick’s church where we met with David and his groomsmen Jason and Donacha. The boys where busy greeting the guests and making sure everyone had a mass booklet for the ceremony. When the ceremony was over and Fionnuala and David had officially become husband and wife we got a few family photos done in the church before heading off to county Sligo for the wedding reception. On the way to the hotel we stopped off firstly at Creevykeel where there is one of the best examples of a court tomb anywhere in Ireland- it also made for some amazing wedding photos and fair dues to Fionnuala for climbing up on the stones for the photos! From there we made the short trip to Mullaghmore for some amazing wedding photos- we first stopped at the beautiful cliff tops with Mount Battens castle as our backdrop and then we made our way around the headland to the beach for a few photos. With all the shots in the bag we made our way to the hotel for the reception, This was my first Castle Dargan Hotel Wedding and it really is a most beautiful hotel set in some amazing grounds. The meal laid on was amazing and Fionnuala and David had so many little details and personal touches that it was a wedding photographers delight!!! The band really had a great vibe going when we where getting ready to leave and im sure the party went on well into the small hours. I would like to take this opportunity to wish Fionnuala and David the very best for their future together and for inviting me to be part of their special day, below are some of the other wedding vendors who helped make their Castle Dargan Hotel Wedding so special.
