Salthill Hotel Wedding Galway Ryan and Marie

Salthill Hotel Wedding Galway

Congratulations to Marie and Ryan who where married in the beautiful Cladagh Church in Galway on the 8th of August 2014 and had an amazing reception for all their family and friends in the stunning Salthill Hotel. After a long drive that morning and being held up by every farmer with a tractor and trailer on the road between Kinlough and Galway myself and Sinead rolled into Galway city to be greeted by glorious sunshine. We made our way straight to Marie’s mums house right beside the city center and there the girls where all busy getting ready while Marie’s brother made a lovely fry for all to enjoy. After we got some photos with the girls we made the short trip down the road to the beautiful Cladagh Church for the wedding ceremony. The Cladagh Church really is a beautiful setting for a wedding- it does not look like much from the outside but once you step inside you are blown away by the beauty of it especially the stained glass windows. Ryan and his groomsmen where meeting and greeting the guests but as soon as the blue Cadillac ย carrying Marie and the girls arrived they made their way into the Cladagh Church. After the wedding ceremony we got some family photos at the side of the church with the lovely grotto in the background. We then just crossed the road where Marie’s brother had a boat waiting ready to take Marie and Ryan around the bay for a spin- with the glorious sunshine there was quite a crowd gathered to watch and cheer on Marie and Ryan it actually looked like the scene from Titanic when on the way back to shore Marie and Ryan stood up in the bow of the boat and raised their arms! We then made our way to the Salthill Hotel for the wedding reception but before we got there we stopped at the promenade in Salthill for some photos which was amazing with the sun as our backdrop. From there we went into a small park beside the hotel and got some beautiful wedding portrait photos in among the flowerbeds that where in full bloom. This was my first Salthill Hotel Wedding Galway and I must say I was so impressed with the hotel and the beautiful reception they laid on for Marie and Ryan. There where two themes to the wedding a music and a nautical one- Marie’s family are the nautical side with fishermen and her brothers are champion rowers – the music theme is down to Ryan and his love of heavy metal music. The first dance was hands down the best I have ever seen and it will take something really amazing to beat it- Marie and Ryan had every guest off their feet and lined up all around the dancefloor cheering them on for their brilliant dance routine. The wedding was made so special by all the personal touches that Ryan made- he made every guest a small boat with their name on it and the theme of a nautical wedding was everywhere to be seen. Ryan also made each of the groomsmen a longboard and I have to say his skill as a carpenter is top notch. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Marie and Ryan for allowing me be part of their special day and wish them all the best for their future together. Below are some of the photos from the wedding enjoy…….
