Mill Park Hotel Wedding, Dearbhla + Dermot
Congratulations to Dearbhla Fox and Dermot Slevin who where married in St Mary’s Crurch Cashelard on the 5th June 2015 followed by a Mill Park Hotel Wedding reception for their families and friends. The 5th June 2015 was a beautiful sunny day but it was also very windy – no problem for me with the bald head but not so nice for the girls with their up-styles to worry about! I met with Dearbhla and her bridesmaid Mary Anne first who where getting ready in Dearbhla’s home house in the stunning location of the Knather Ballyshannon. From the sitting room window you can see right the way across to the Dartry mountains in Leitrim. I could easily have pulled up one of the comfy chairs and sat looking at the stunning view and watched the clouds roll across the sky all day however I had a few wedding photos to take!
Dermot – who I have known since we where small children – was getting ready along with Aiden just the next house down the road so I popped down to the boys for a few photos before making my way back up to the girls who had finished the hair and make up. After a few family shots we made our way to the wedding ceremony that was taking place in St Mary’s Church in Cashelard which is just five minutes outside Ballyshannon. The ceremony was presided over by Fr Nigel who is the Chaplin in Rosses Community School where Dearbhla is a teacher and he really made the wedding ceremony relaxed and fun and he also presented Dearbhla and Dermot with a lovely gift of Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus etched on mirrored glass that he managed to carefully bring back from Medjugorje.
After the wedding ceremony we took some family photos in the church before making our way to Whoriskey’s pub across the road where there was tea, coffee and food for the guests and also an odd pint was consumed. After a half an hour with their friends Dearbhla and Dermot set off for the wedding reception which was taking place in the Mill Park Hotel in Donegal town. We stopped off in Murvagh along the way for a few photos and the beach and dunes there are some of the best you will find anywhere in the world. On our arrival at the Mill Park Hotel we where greeted by Mary and Jim who had champagne on the ready for the newly-weds and tea and coffee for the guests. The speeches where great craic and a blow up crocodile made its way to the top table and he was no stranger to Dermot as apparently he was also on the stag! The band for the evening was Keltic Kaos and they always put on a really great show and keep the dance floor filled all night. I would like to take this opportunity to wish Dearbhla and Dermot the very best for their future together and thank them for allowing me be part of their special day, below are some of the photos from the Mill Park Hotel Wedding, Dearbhla + Dermot …..enjoy….
