Armada Hotel Wedding

Congratulations to Frances and Fiachra who were married on the 13th of August in the Star of The Sea Church in Quilty followed by an Armada Hotel wedding reception for their families and friends. The 13th of August was one of those rare Irish days in that the sun shone brightly and it actually felt warm! so in that respect Frances and Fiachra were very lucky indeed and the child of Prague was finally doing the job he was put out to do. I have visited Co Clare many times and have enjoyed plenty of holidays there throughout the years and visiting the Cliffs of Moher is definitely a trip worth making for anyone from these beautiful Isles but this was my first visit to the Armada hotel in Spanish point. The one thing that stood out most to me was the fantastic place names like Slievedooley which I passed through shortly before arriving in Labasheeda and meeting up with Frances in her home where she was getting ready for the wedding. It was a long four hour drive down but with stunning countryside to look at the journey went in pretty quickly. After a few photos with Frances and the girls we made the short trip to the Star Of The Sea Church in Quilty for the wedding ceremony. On our arrival we met up with Fiachra and the boys who were busy meeting and greeting the arriving guests. It was such a great change to see everyone arriving wearing their sunglasses instead of being hidden beneath umbrellas making a dash for the church door. After the ceremony the guests congregated outside the church and enjoyed the craic for a while and Frances and Fiachra even had an Ice Cream van on hand to dish out some well needed cones. A great thing about an Armada Hotel Wedding is that the hotel is situated on the cliff tops overlooking the sea so there is no need to drive long distances to find a location for the wedding photos as the Hotel lawn has the best views anywhere. We got some great bridal party photos followed by the family photos before France and Fiachra joined their guests on the lawn for a well deserved drink before dinner was called. I must say I really enjoyed my Armada Hotel Wedding experience and would like to take this opportunity to thank Frances and Fiachra for allowing myself and Sinead be part of their special day and wish them the very best of everything for the future.
