Blue Haven Hotel Kilcar Wedding Lisa + Kevin
Blue Haven Hotel Kilcar Wedding
Congratulations to Lisa and Kevin who were married in a beautiful wedding ceremony in St Patrick’s Church in Ballyshannon on the 22nd of April 2016 followed by a brilliant wedding reception in the Blue Haven Hotel in Kilcar for their families and friends. The 22nd of April was a beautiful day with some nice warm sunshine and plenty of clear blue skies over Donegal – it was just perfect wedding weather. I started my day off with a short spin into Ballyshannon to Park Hill where Lisa and her bridesmaids Hannah, Orla, Paula and Kathleen were busy with hair and makeup. There was a great buzz of excitement in the house and while the girls were busy getting ready the boys were busy putting ribbons onto the cars. We were joined on the day by James Carr from James Carr Media who was on video duty and it is always a pleasure to work alongside James and you can view his stunning video work on his Facebook Page here. Lisa was an absolutely stunning bride and it was very easy getting some beautiful portraits with her before we made our way to St Patrick’s church for the wedding ceremony.
On arrival at the church we met with Kevin and his groomsmen Aidan, Shane, Paul and Aidan. Kevin was busy at the front of the church organising all the musicians while the boys were meeting and greeting the guests. Kevin is known far and wide for his musical talent and I have met with Kevin many times at weddings when he plays with Tommy Byrne in the Big Jigs Wedding Band. It was a great surprise for Lisa and all the wedding guests when Kevin played the guitar and sang Lisa down the aisle- there were many a tear in the eye of everyone there. The wedding ceremony had some beautiful music with lots of great singing as you would expect from such talented musicians.
After the ceremony everyone had time to mingle in the sunshine and chat before we got the family photos done inside the beautiful church of St Patrick’s. We then made a quick stop in Dicey Reillys pub for a few pints of cold and refreshing Donegal Blonde beer and Brendan even allowed us into the brewery for a few photos with the groomsmen. From there we made our way to Murvagh beach where we got some amazing wedding photos with Lisa and Kevin in the sand dunes and also in the forestry. At one stage during the photos a walker went by with his dogs which took a shine to Kevin and Lisa and jumped all over them – not good when a white wedding dress is involved but a bit of craic too. From Murvagh we made our way to the Blue Haven Hotel in Kilcar for the wedding reception. It proved to be a great nights craic with some great speeches and a brilliant performance from the Daniel O’ Donnell lookalike who had the whole guests in tears with laughter- in fact I had real trouble keeping the camera steady I was laughing so much. The Pat Gallagher wedding band got the first dance under way shortly after dinner and as we left the floor was filled and the party was in full swing. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Lisa and Kevin for having me be part of their beautiful wedding and I would like to wish them both the very best of everything for the future, below are some of the photos from Lisa and Kevin’s Blue Haven Hotel Kilcar Wedding……enjoy…….
