Clanree Hotel Wedding

Congratulations to Yvette and Ciaran who were married on the 4th of June 2016 in Dunlewey Church followed by a brilliant wedding reception for their families and friends in the beautiful Clanree Hotel in Letterkenny. I started my day off with a spin to Killylastin in Letterkenny where Yvette and her bridesmaids Olwyn, Karen and Dawn were getting ready. On arrival at number 51 the girls were all busy in hair and makeup which was been taken care of by Fiona and Marie-Therese from Polished in Sligo. The girls were all relaxed and enjoyed a glass of champagne while I got some candid photos in between getting photos of the lovely details Yvette had for her wedding day – two beautiful pieces that really caught my eye were two coins that belong to Yvette’s dad – one was a silver crown piece from 1889 that was used at his father’s and grandfather’s wedding and the other was a gold sovereign from 1907 that was used at his parents and grandmothers weddings. We worked quickly to get our photos done as it was a 30min drive from the house in Letterkenny to the church in Dunlewey and with all the photos we needed captured we made our way to Gweedore to meet with Ciaran and his groomsmen Ciaran, Patrick and Christopher.

The church in Dunlewey is probably in one of the most beautiful settings anywhere in Ireland with mount Errigal towering over it. As the weather was good with a nice warmth to the day the guests were all chatting outside as we pulled into the church grounds. Ciaran was very relaxed and chatted with his family and friends before Yvette made her grand entrance in a beautiful vintage Bentley car.  After the ceremony we got our family photos done in front of the church with Errigal as the backdrop and they look fantastic. There are so many beautiful locations in and around Dunlewey that it is difficult to pick where to go. We stopped in a small lay-by that gave us panoramic views of the Poisoned Glen and of Dunlewey lake and we got some amazing wedding photos of Yvette and Ciaran with some of Ireland’s best views in the background. Our next stop was in Glenveagh National park. For anyone who has never been to Glenveagh then you really must put it on your bucket list of places to visit – it is simply stunning. It is hard to take a bad photo with such a great couple and bridal party and in a location like Glenveagh. We had some fun with the photos also with my first attempt at doing a wedding gif photo and as you will see below the bridal party really threw themselves into it and made for a great photo gif. There were lot’s of tourists around but they were all great and gave us the space we needed to get our photos – probably my favorite image is of Yvette and Ciaran on the wooden bridge having a kiss and 30 seconds before we took it there were up to 50 people around the bridge but they all cleared back to let us get our shot.

From Glenveagh we made our way back to Letterkenny for the start of the Clanree Hotel Wedding reception. The Clanree is a beautiful location for a wedding and we made use of it’s fantastic staircase and huge chandeliers for some bridal party photos before the meal started. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Yvette and Ciaran for having myself and Sinead as part of their wedding and would like to wish them the very best of everything for the future, below are some of the vendors who helped make Yvette and Ciaran’s Clanree Hotel Wedding so special……
