Clanree Hotel Letterkenny Wedding

Congratulations to Lindsay and Colm who were married in St Brigid’s Church Golan in Milford Co. Donegal on the 12th of May 2017 followed by a brilliant Clanree Hotel Letterkenny Wedding reception for their families and friends. The 12th of May 2017 was what we call in Ireland “a grand soft day” which means it was cloudy with little wind and a mist of rain now and again but nothing to get excited about and certainly nothing to make you rush home and take the washing in off the line! I started my day off with a stop off with Colm and his groomsmen Donal and Daragh who were getting ready in Colm’s home house just outside of Milford. The boys were all very relaxed and I got a few quick shots with them before making my way to the other side of Milford town to Willow Farm where Lindsay and her bridesmaids Vicky and Louise were getting ready. The girls were even more relaxed than the boys and we got some lovely photos of Lindsay in her beautiful wedding dress inside the house before going outside and making use of the beautiful garden.

The wedding ceremony took place in St. Brigid’s Church in Golan which is only a 5 minute drive outside Milford and it was my first time shooting a wedding there and it really was a lovely little church. The guests all arrived nice and early which allowed me to capture some documentary wedding photos of everyone before Lindsay and the girls arrived. Flowergirl Zoe and pageboy Matthew were definitely the centre of attention with all the guests before Lindsay’s arrival. After the ceremony we got the family photos done inside the beautiful church before jumping in the cars and making our way to the salmon leap in Ramelton for some wedding photos with Lindsay and Colm. The salmon leap is a brilliant location as it is well covered in with trees so if it rains you have lot’s of protection from the canopy and the lighting is always beautiful there. We worked fast sand got some gorgeous photos before making our way to our Clanree Hotel Letterkenny Wedding reception. The Clanree is a great wedding hotel with a fantastic ballroom and also lots of photo opportunities both  inside at the majestic staircase and outside at the garden area and we had enough free time to get the bridal party out to use both.

The ballroom in the Clanree looked fantastic and the naked wedding cake took centre stage and it looked so so tasty- I had to use all my willpower to stop myself taking a fork from a table and getting stuck into it!! – It was made by local lady Mary Diver. Lindsay had put a lot of effort into the wedding details and had made the seating plan and table numbers herself and she also hand tied the wedding bouquets herself – talented indeed. After the meal we had some lovely heartfelt speeches and then the band got set up and got the party well and truly started. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Lindsay and Colm for having me be part of their special day and would like to wish them the very best of everything for their future together.
