Markree Castle Wedding

Markree Castle Wedding

Congratulations to Éilis and Ross who got married on the 15th of July 2017 in a beautiful wedding ceremony in St John the evangelist Church in Tubbercurry followed by a fantastic Markree Castle Wedding reception for their families and friends. The 15th of July was a typical day for the summer of 2017 in that it had no sun and no heat but plenty of wind and rain and grey skies- none of this however was going to take the smiles of happiness away from Éilis and Ross and their families and friends.

I started the day off with a trip to Markree Castle where Éilis and her bridesmaids Trisha, Grace, Maria and Caroline were getting ready. Now Markree Castle Wedding venue is one stunning place- it has recently been renovated and to say I was impressed is an understatement- I could have spent two days just going around the castle getting detail shots as every single nook and cranny had something interesting and if amazing stained glass windows floats your boat then a Markree Castle Wedding has to be on your list! The girls were getting hair and makeup done in a beautiful room with floor to ceiling windows by Salon 2 and Roy Wong and after a few candid photos I went to get some detail shots of the wedding dress and the beautiful Jimmy Choo shoes in the bedroom. On arrival we also met up with James Carr from JC Media who was on hand to take care of the videography for the day. It is always great to work alongside James as he is a true professional in his work and so easy to work alongside- you can view some of James’s cinematic style wedding videography here.

Ross and his groomsmen Rob, Dave, Alan and Dave were also getting ready at the castle in the lodge so it was just a quick spin in the car to get to the boys to get some relaxed portraits with them in the beautiful garden before they made their way to Tubbercurry for the wedding ceremony. After the boys left I made my way back to the castle to get a few shots with Éilis and the bridesmaids in the stunning drawing room- you would not find a more beautiful bride in a more beautiful setting anywhere.

As I arrived at St John’s church in Tubbercurry for the wedding ceremony it had just started to rain again so everyone made a dash inside the church to await the arrival of Éilis. As the blue vintage Bentley pulled up I was told that the car that Éilis was arriving in was the very same car that brought Ross’s mum to her wedding ceremony – how special is that! After the ceremony there was a break in the weather and although it was still pretty windy the rain had eased off enough to allow Éilis and Ross run the gauntlet of the confetti throwing – it always makes for great photos when there is a some confetti to be thrown and seeing Ross get a large mouthful as he darted down the line made for a great photo although difficult to concentrate on holding the camera steady while laughing so hard!

As we arrived back at the hotel for the Markree Castle Wedding reception there was a chance to get some photos with the bridal party around the stunning gardens and we worked fast to get our photos before the rain came back . There are so many photo locations around the castle you could spend hours exploring them all but the most important thing is to work fast and get the bridal party back to the party inside. The manager at Markree Castle- Philip – was on hand to help not only Éilis and Ross but anything that any guest wanted or requested was no bother to Philip and having spoken to Éilis and Ross I know they want to give a special mention and word of thanks to Philip for all his help and assistance over the wedding weekend.  The speeches covered all the emotions but laughter was the order of the day and I think that everyone enjoyed a good belly laugh with all the speakers. When the meal had finished we had a few minutes to get some night time shots before the party truly kicked off with the band Jungle Boogie getting the dance floor full from the start. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Éilis and Ross for having me be part of their wedding day and I would like to wish them both the very best of everything in life for their future together… below are some photos from Éilis and Ross’s beautiful Markree Castle Wedding…..enjoy….
