Waterfront Hotel Dungloe Wedding Moya + Gavin
Waterfront Hotel Dungloe Wedding
Congratulations to Moya and Gavin who were married in St Columcilles Chapel Cnoc Fola Gweedore on the 13th of April 2019 followed by a fantastic Waterfront Hotel Dungloe Wedding reception for their families and friends. I started my day off with a visit to Serenity Hair and Makeup in Gweedore where Moya and her bridesmaids were getting hair and makeup done. The girls were very relaxed sipping on tea and champagne and enjoying the pampering on offer in Serenity by the lovely staff. I met up with Caimin Jacob who was on videography duty for the day and Caimin had traveled all the way from Co. Clare that morning so my spin from Kinlough was nothing compared to his early start! It was a bright morning with a very strong wind and that wind had no intention on letting up for the whole day and night ahead but with a couple with a great attitude like Moya and Gavin I knew we would be getting great photos no matter what. The whole Gweedore area is just amazing with so many beautiful locations your head would go dizzy trying to decide where best to go. I love the fact that you can find new amazing places to shoot each time you visit and Moya and Gavin had some stunning locations picked along the wild Atlantic way for their photos- wait until you scroll down below….
After I left Moya at Serenity I made the short trip to Gavin’s home house in Ranafast where he was relaxing with his groomsmen Stephen, Damien and Dan. The boy’s were busy giving the cars one last polish to have them look their best and the Porsche supplied by JJ McBride looked amazing in the sunlight- they just don’t design cars like that anymore- a true classic of design.
I got a few photos with Gavin and his family and the groomsmen before packing up and heading up to Moya’s house in Glasserchoo where she and the girls were getting ready. The house was buzzing with excitement as the time for Moya to get into her beautiful wedding dress from McElhinney’s In Ballybofey drew closer. We managed to brave the gale force wind and step outside to pop open a bottle of champagne just before the girls got the Gรบnaรญ on.

Moya’s beautiful wedding bouquet was made by BB Flowers Dungloe
How Stunning does Moya lookAs they say in Gweedore Cailรญnรญ รlainn
How cute are Saoirse and Ruadhรกn going up the aisle
Gavin waiting patiently at the top of the aisle for Moya
Moya’s niece Ruby did a fantastic job singing at the end of the ceremony
The Porsche proved to be a massive hit with the guests young and old!
I always love trying to get a creative photo at the church and I love how this back-light silhouette shot came out- it’s always worth pushing the boat out and trying things
After we left the Church we made our way to Bloody Foreland for some photos – what a stunning location
The only way to keep warm in that wind is to snuggle in nice and tight to your new husband
I love it when a photo like this comes together- Moya and Gavin walked off while Caimin got some drone shots and as they passed the old cottage ruins I got this photo below through the shell of the building- amazing
How amazing do these old stone walls look- it is testament to the builders of old that they can withstand the most ferocious wild Atlantic winter storms on this exposed coastline in Donegal- I just love this set of photos
After we left Bloody Foreland we made our way to Dunlewey for some photos around the old church. It was so windy there that it was nearly too difficult to stand let alone take photos. The wind seemed to funnel down the valley from The Poisoned Glen and through the old church ruin. It was a very quick stop as we needed to get to the Hotel to join the waiting guests for the party to begin.
A quick stop off for some petrol and a quick Uachtar Reoite for the journey to Dungloe
The beautiful wedding cake was supplied by Mc Brides Cakes Loughanure
The evenings entertainment got off to a great start with comedian and hypnotist Dale Thomas working his magic on some lucky volunteers/victims! Then it was over to the fantastic Goodfellas band and DJ Ed for the musical entertainment for the evening
There was some brilliant Irish dancing performed after Dale and one of the dancers was bridesmaid Shauna
