Sandhouse Hotel Rossnowlagh Wedding Mairead and Kevin

Sandhouse Hotel Rossnowlagh Wedding

Congratulations to Mairead and Kevin on their Sandhouse Hotel Rossnowlagh Wedding on the 22nd of March 2019. I started my day off with a short spin to Glasbolie which is a town-land between Ballintra and Rossnowlagh. On arrival at the house I met with Mairead and her bridesmaids (who are also her sisters) Amanda and Emma who were all busy getting their hair done by Hairs and Graces hair salon and makeup done by Olivias Beauty Parlour. The girls were all very relaxed and enjoyed a glass of champagne while getting ready. On videography duty for the day was Peter from Peter Mullaney Media who was being ably assisted by Jason from Jason Mc Garrigle from Jason Mc Garrigle Films. It is always great to work alongside talented and familiar people like Peter and Jason who you know you can work seamlessly alongside throughout the day.

After we got some photos of Mairead and the girls and the family in Glasbolie we made the short drive to the beautiful Sandhouse Hotel where the ceremony and reception were taking place. The Sandhouse hotel is a beautiful place for a wedding and it’s location right on the beach is second to none anywhere in Ireland. You are always guaranteed a great friendly reception from Paul and his staff and no request is too big or small for them to attend to. I met up with Kevin and his groomsmen Patrick and Shane who were just getting their buttonholes fitted as I arrived and got some relaxed photos with them before the guests started to arrive for the ceremony.

Mairead and the girls arrived in style to the hotel in beautiful vintage cars provided by Pauric Duignan and her Dad Micรฉal . Mairead is a chef by profession and is an employee of Paul’s in the Sandhouse Hotel so it was no surprise that Paul greeted Mairead with a huge hug and an even bigger glass of something that wasn’t lemonade to help calm any last minute nerves she may have been feeling. The wedding ceremony was full of laughs and joyful tears and beautiful music by Aisling Meehan and was overseen by Siobhan Duffy Brown who is always a joy to work with.

After the ceremony we made our way to the restaurant garden which overlooks the beach and got some beautiful family photos before jumping in the vintage cars and making our way further along the beach for some bridal party photos. The sun was in and out but the wind was a constant so we didn’t hang around too long and headed back to Mairead’s house to get a few photos with Kevin’s much loved vintage tractors.I honestly don’t know a thing about tractors apart from throwing my eyebrows towards the heavens when I meet them on a narrow country road on my way to a wedding. Kevin on the other hand knows everything to know about them and they are definitely on top of his list of things he enjoys. We got some great photos with the tractors – even a shot of Mairead and the girls helping to push one stubborn tractor that refused to start into position for some photos.

From there we made our way back to the hotel for the start of the meal and the evenings entertainment. The speeches were full of laughs and went down as well as the beautiful meal and it was then on to cut the wedding cake that was supplied by Catherine from Park Lane Cakes whose cakes are always amazing and never fail to impress and then it was on toย  the ballroom for an hour of craic and mischievous fun with Dale Thomas who is Ireland’s leading comedy hypnotist. Dale had the crowd in tears laughing and it was great to witness the guests get involved in the craic. After Dale had the crowd well warmed up it was over to the Cufflinks Wedding Band for the evenings musical entertainment and they had the floor filled from the off. I got a few creative nighttime photos with Mairead and Kevin before making my goodbyes and heading home to start the downloads and backups. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mairead and Kevin for having me as part of theirย  Sandhouse Hotel Rossnowlagh Wedding and would like to wish them the very best for their future.
