Gweedore Wedding An Chuirt Hotel Amanda & Eric

Gweedore Wedding An Chuirt Hotel

Congratulations to Amanda and Eric who celebrated their Gweedore Wedding An Chuirt Hotel on the 1st of June 2019 with a beautiful wedding ceremony in St Mary’s Church Derrybeg followed by a fantastic wedding reception for their families and friends in An Chuirt Hotel. I started my day off on the 1st of June with a long but scenic drive to Gweedore. The weather was not exactly what you would hope for on the first day of June but is is what you would expect in Ireland so it was great to get out of the car and get the camera in hand and get to work. I started off by visiting Amanda’s home which is not far from the Hotel or the Church so it was an easy skip to each location. On arrival with Amanda I met her bridesmaids Jordanna and Graceann who were busy getting their make-up done by the very talented Kerry Harvey- you can follow Kerry and see her latest tips and tricks with make-up on her Facebook page here.

Speaking of talented people James Carr from JC Media was on videography duty for the wedding day and it is always a pleasure to work alongside someone as professional as James who is easy going and always alert to capture those all too fleeting moments- you can view more of Jame’s cinematic wedding videos on James’s website here. The girls were all relaxed and enjoying some champagne as the morning preparations were under way and as soon as Amanda got into her beautiful wedding dress I got some photos with the bridesmaids and her family before making the short trip to St Mary’s Church in Derrybeg.

On arrival at the church I met up with Eric and his groomsmen Shane and Pa who were busy handing out mass booklets and meeting the arriving guests. The sun made an appearance for a while and shone brightly when Amanda arrived at 1pm for the ceremony. After the ceremony we got some creative photos inside the church which has some amazing stained glass windows before making our way to the old church ruins in Dunlewey for some bridal party photos.

The church ruins in Dunlewey make a great location for wedding photos and having Errigal mountain as the backdrop is really just the cherry on top. James was able to get his drone out for some really dramatic footage and showed some really skillful piloting skills in flying through the ruins. The next stop was to just cross the road and walk 50 meters into the Poisoned Glen valley to the old bridge. The Poisoned Glen is one of my favorite locations for wedding photos and no two day’s does it look the same as the weather and light changes so much and it always delivers dramatic photos. I could easily spend a day exploring the different areas for photos but with a timeline to stick to we got our shots and made the 5 minute drive back to An Chuirt for the wedding reception.

On entertainment duty during the meal was the one and only Scruffy Duffy and if you have never seen Scruffy in action then you are missing out- having guests dancing on the chairs during the soup is just par for course for Scruffy- never a dull moment. Once Scruffy had finished up the Cufflinks band were set up and took over for the evening having the dance-floor filled from the first song after the first dance. When I was packed up and ready for home the party was in full swing and I’m sure it went on into the early hours. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Amanda and Eric for having me as part of their Gweedore Wedding An Chuirt Hotel and I would like to wish them the very best in their married life together. Below are some of the photos from their amazing wedding day…enjoy…..

I love getting creative with some off camera flash inside the church to make some amazing portraits especially when you have amazing stained glass windows like those in St Mary’s Church in Derrybeg. An Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingI just love the Poisoned Glen for wedding photos – you have the old bridge with Errigal Mountain behind you and then spin around and you have the amazing ruggedness of the Poisoned Glen stretching out into the distance- the best scenery in Ireland hands down.An Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingI love this view of Errigal mountain with Amanda and Eric in the foregroundAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingAn Chuirt Hotel Gweedore WeddingIf you are planning your own An Chuirt Hotel Gweedore Wedding and would like to book Fergal Mc Grath Photography for your wedding photo or video please use the contact me section of this website to get in touch.
