Laura + Edward Mount Errigal Hotel Letterkenny Wedding
Mount Errigal Hotel Letterkenny Wedding
Congratulations to Laura and Edward who were married in Teach Phobail Chríost Rí in Gortahork on the 27th of July 2019 followed by a fantastic Mount Errigal Hotel Letterkenny Wedding reception for their families and friends.
I started my day off with a scenic drive to north Donegal and the beautiful village of Gortahork. I made my first stop was at Edwards home house where he was getting ready along with his groomsmen Gerald, Ciarán G and Ciarán C and also pageboy Séan. The lads were in great spirits and we had some laughs when Gerald opened a bottle of champagne and might have put a bit too much power into the shaking and managed to give Edward a bit of a soaking!
After we left the boy’s we made our way across town to Laura’s home house where she was busy getting ready with her bridesmaids Annmarie, Brídín and Aoife and flower girl Suzie. The girls were very relaxed and enjoyed the morning and myself and James from JC Media who was on video duty for the day got lots of candid and detail photos and video. After getting some quick family photos done I made the short trip to Teach Phobaill Chríost Rí for the wedding ceremony.
On arrival ta the church the sun was out and it meant the guests could mingle around outside for a chat before Laura’s arrival which allowed me to get plenty of documentary images. After the ceremony there was a surprise guard of honor from the local rowing club for Laura and Edward and they held the oars aloft forming a tunnel for the happy couple to exit the church through.
The guests had a pleasant surprise when they exited the ceremony to find Laura and Edward had arranged for an Ice-cream van to supply them all with 99’s and lots of flavoured sauce and sprinkles-mmmmm! Laura’s brother had another surprise for the happy couple as he had arranged for the Anglo Celt cup to be there for the family photos and we got some great shots with it – myself and James also got some photos with the cup – just couldn’t resist!
After the family photos we made our way with the bridal party to Loch an Ghainimh, Cashelnagore for some photos. There is nowhere more scenic in Ireland than Donegal and in Donegal itself Loch an Ghainimh, Cashelnagore rates very highly- you get great views of majestic Errigal mountain, an abundance of colour with the blooming heather and beautiful rustic lanes winding through the bogland- a photographers dream location. We got some great photos and worked quickly as the midges were out in force and had taken a taste for skin.
We arrived in the Mount Errigal Hotel Letterkenny Wedding reception with plenty of time for Laura and Edward to chat and mingle with their guests before the meal. The guests had plenty to keep them entertained during the meal with DJ Scruffy Duffy doing his show and keeping everyone dancing and singing and playing games throughout. I managed to get some creative photos done with Laura and Edward just before the first dance and when I left the dance floor was full and the party was in full swing. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Laura and Edward for having me be part of their Mount Errigal Hotel Letterkenny Wedding and wish them the very best for their future together.
