Great Northern Hotel Bundoran Summer Wedding Farrah + David
Great Northern Hotel Bundoran Summer Wedding
Congratulations to Farrah Bogle and David Mullaney who got married in St. Mary’s Church Cashelard in a beautiful wedding ceremony officiated by Fr. Patsy Mc Dermott on the 3rd of August 2019 followed by a fantastic Great Northern Hotel Bundoran Summer Wedding reception with their families and friends.
On a wet and windy morning on the 3rd of August I made the short trip to Farrah’s mum’s house on the outskirts of Ballyshannon in the town-land of Behy. On arrival the Farrah and her bridesmaids Donna, Siobhan, Michelle and Christina along with flower girls Carys and Cora were all busy getting their hair done by Grainne from Grainne’s Hair Salon in Laghey and makeup done by Caroline from The Beauty Rooms in Ballyshannon. As busy as the girls were they took some time out to pop open a bottle of champagne and what an ordeal it proved to be- Siobhan could not get the cork out and tried every trick in the book to remove it even taking off her slipper and whacking the bottom of the bottle- eventually the pressure of shaking and hitting was too much and the cork exploded from the bottle much to the surprise and joy of the rest of the girls!!
Also on videography duty was the very talented James Carr from JC Media – you can view some of James’s wedding videos on his website here. The flowers Farrah picked for her bouquet and for the church were stunning and they were provided by Farrah’s friend Paul Dunleavy from Le Fleur Florists in Ballyshannon. After Farrah got into her stunning wedding dress from Pearls and Lace in Donegal Town I got some portraits with the girls before making the short drive to Cashelard.
On arrival at the church I met up with David and his groomsmen Mark, Jude, Terry, William, Daithi and Eoin, the boys were all busy meeting and greeting the arriving guests along with Fr. Patsy. When Farrah arrived in her car provided by Michael Gallagher Wedding Cars in Donegal town she made a quick stop to her dad’s grave to say hello- Farrah is not the only famous musician in the family as her late great dad was Phonsie Bogle- a well know hugely talented and much loved musician and singer.
Farrah had music central to her wedding day and the Church music was amazing and huge credit goes to Brian, Luke and Daniel O’Sullivan along with Siobhan McGroarty, Eileen Carr and Alan Chapman who all sang and played magnificently throughout the ceremony. Farrah had a really special surprise for David and the guests as the waited for her to come up the aisle- the music started and Farrah walked in with her mum Carol on her left arm and a microphone in her right hand and she walked and sang her way beautifully up the aisle- such a fantastic way to walk up the aisle. The musical surprises did not end there as a flash mob made up of Farrah and David’s friends began to sing near the end of the ceremony and it really made a special ceremony perfect- James has some great footage of the flash mob on his Facebook page and it is well worth a visit.
After the ceremony and family photos the bridal party and guests made their way to Whoriskey’s Pub in Cashelard for some music and refreshments before making their way to the wedding reception in the Great Northern Hotel in Bundoran. On arrival to the hotel I got some photos of the beautiful ballroom and the amazing wedding cake made by Gabrielle Doyle. The evening had improved weather wise and we were able to get some beautiful portraits with Farrah and David at sunset on the cliff tops at Roughey. The band for the evening was The Pat Gallagher band and there is no better man on stage to fill a dance-floor that Pat. The DJ for the evenings entertainment was provided by Benen Tierney.
I would like to thank Farrah and David for having me be part of their Great Northern Hotel Bundoran Summer Wedding and wish them the very best of everything for their future. What a fantastic year 2019 was with so many fantastic weddings documented and special moments captured. I can’t believe how quickly 2019 has flown by and looking back over the weddings and picking out a few images here and there for the slideshow has brought me right back to those special days spent with so many wonderful brides and grooms.
