Bernice and John Wedding 24th July 2020
Congratulations to Bernice and John who were married in a beautiful wedding ceremony on the 24th of July 2020. The extended break from shooting weddings had left me well rested by the time the 24th of July came around but it also left me a bit nervous – would I remember how to photograph a wedding day!?- would I even remember how to turn on the camera!!?- a quick look on Youtube and all came back to me haha! When I left home that morning instead of double checking all the gear I triple and quadruple checked it and even checked it again when I arrived at Bernice’s home house to start with the prep photos- when I arrived at the house I first met up with James Carr from JC Media who was on video duty for the day and James was leaned over into the boot of his car looking at his gear bag- thank God it was not just me!!
Once we got into the house and said hello to everyone the nerves eased and I clicked into gear and the rest of the day went so smoothly thanks to a great couple and their families and friends. The morning flew by and the craic was great with Bernice and her bridesmaids Catherina, Alisha, Niamh and Kelly. The ceremony was taking place in Ardaghey Chapel which is only a stones throw from Bernice’s home and once I had finished up at the house I made the short drive over the road to the Chapel where I met up with John and his groomsmen Lee, James, Conor and Fiachra. The boys were all very relaxed and kept busy attaching the buttonholes and greeting the arriving family and friends.
After the ceremony the weather had taken a turn for the worse and the rain was pelting down- undeterred Bernice and John said they were happy enough to brave the conditions and go to Inver pier for the photos as was originally planned- I love that attitude – nothing was going to get in the way of Bernice and John having their perfect day- not even Bernice falling off the bus on arrival at the house- she just jumped to her feet and waved to the cheering crowd- brilliant. We got some beautiful photos down on the shoreline and it goes to show it is not the weather that makes the day but the outlook of the couple. After we got our shots we made our way to the reception which was being held at Bernice and John’s home in Mountcharles- a beautiful Marquee was waiting for the guests and there was fantastic food and entertainment on offer all evening. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Bernice and John for having me at their beautiful wedding and I would like to wish them the very best of everything life has to offer going forward. Below are some of Bernice and John’s photos from their stunning wedding day….enjoy…
