Rock The Frock Donegal Wedding Photography: Donna and Thomas Autumn Photo-shoot in Castle Caldwell October 2012
Rock The Frock Donegal Wedding Photography:
Rock The Frock Donegal Wedding Photography– and that’s exactly what Donna did on this Photo-shoot. I had suggested to Donna that as she enjoyed the photos on the Wedding day that a Cherish The Dress shoot might be something that would interest herself and Thomas- it is really common in the USA and even in the UK now to do a Cherish the Dress or Thrash The Dress shoot after the Wedding day – and it is starting to take off in Ireland now too- It is really a chance to go to places and take some time getting shots that would be too much of a stretch on a time starved wedding day, it is a lot more relaxed and nobody is keeping an eye on the watch -well just to see how close the sunset is!- Donna said she loved the idea but insisted it would be Rock The Frock and not Cherish the Dress so with a cool name we now needed a cool set of locations and some clear weather!!ย Donna and Thomas where married in the beautiful town of Rathmullan in Co. Donegal on the 5th of October and they held their reception in The Silver Tassie Hotel in Letterkenny so on the day itself it really was wedding photography in Donegal. However when we met up on the bank holiday- Monday the 29th October- it was a case of wedding photography in Leitrim and wedding photography in Fermanagh. First up we all went along the shore of Lough Melvin and then up the side of Arroo Mountain just outside Kinlough- what a glorious view it is from up there, the bog-land and the view of the Lough below is stunning- lovely Leitrim indeed. From there we set off for Castle Caldwell Forest just outside Belleek in Co. Fermanagh. This time of year is without doubt the most amazing time for colour in the landscape and the Autumn colours in the forest did not disappoint. Castle Caldwell is full of big old trees and long forestry paths and old stone moss covered walls and it really is a super place to take photos in. The sun sets pretty fast this time of year and we headed down to the pier in Castle Caldwell to get some shots with the lighting gear as the sun dipped below the horizon, this time of day is called the blue hour as the light takes on a lovely cool blue colour temperature and makes for some stunning photos. It was a real pleasure to spend the afternoon getting some great photos with Donna and Thomas and if you like the photos please leave a message belowย as the couple love reading them as do I….ENJOY…
